Kevin Ware: Could Mizzou be landing place for Louisville guard?

Less than 24 hours after the Louisville Cardinals were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament by the Kentucky Wildcats, the Cardinals were making national news again, this time, because of a decision by a player to leave the program.

One year after gruesomely breaking his leg in the NCAA Tournament, Louisville guard Kevin Ware made it known that he was going to transfer away from Louisville and leave the program.

While some believe that Auburn, where new Bruce Pearl just took over, could be a landing spot for Ware, it would be wrong to count out Mizzou as a possible landing place.

Head coach Frank Haith has built a reputation as an open welcomer of transfers during his three years in Columbia and there could be a scholarship or two available if Jabari Brown and/or Jordan Clarkson decide to leave for the NBA.

But there are other connections for Mizzou and Ware as well. Assistant coach Tim Fuller was once a Louisville assistant and it is safe to say that Ware and Fuller are familiar with each other.

Who knows if Ware would consider Mizzou, but it is not crazy to speculate upon it.

Haith should be desperate to create a positive buzz around the program after an extremely disappointing season and Ware's comeback, if completed, would certainly get some positive attention.

Wherever Ware lands, I wish him the best. I am not sure, as a Mizzou fan, I would want him in Columbia because I am not sure he makes this team better, but if he does come, he will be an easy kid to root for.
