St. Louis Cardinals: Comparing Matt Carpenter to Ben Zobrist

St. Louis Cardinals fans new coming into the 2013 season that utility infielder Matt Carpenter could swing the bat. What they didn't know was how he would fare in the field. So far, so good for the St. Louis Cardinals and manager Mike Matheny.

So far, so good for Matt Carpenter's fantasy baseball owners as well.

With second base clearly being something he can handle, Carpenter has become quite the valuable commodity among fantasy baseball owners. In most leagues, he is eligible at first base, second base, third base and outfield, which is the type of position flexibility only rivaled by the popular Ben Zobrist of the Tampa Bay Rays.

I took a look and compared Carpenter and Zobrist's production so far in 2013 over at Yahoo! Sports and it is safe to say that Carpenter has been just as flexible and even more productive.
