Who was the last good junior college center that the University of Missouri obtained? His name was Ricardo Ratliffe, and he shot 69.3 percent from the floor for his senior season. Now, lets not expect this from the newest junior college recruit but he should raise some eyebrows.
Mizzou signed Junior College All-American Keanau Post on January 6th. The 6-11 center was named a Second Team All-American and was among the NJCAA's leaders in rebounding and blocked shots last season. He will be the presence in the middle of the paint that can alter a shot or two.
Head coach Frank Haith told mutigers.com, "we are excited to be adding Keanau to the program. Obviously, he fills a big need for us inside and gives us depth at the center position. There's no question that Keanau's best basketball is ahead of him. He had really matured as a player over the last few seasons and he has the potential to be significant contributor as his career progresses. I am really excited about his potential here at Mizzou."
Post was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and has spent the past two season at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois. According to Rivals.com, Post is ranked No. 3 among junior college recruits. He can play like Ratliffe because he shot 54.4 percent from the field in is sophomore season at SWIC.
Here is Post talking about his commitment.
Here is a game for SWIC this season. Looks a little sloppy but he just needs to improve some hand skills and pressure. http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1475179

Post
averaged 12.3 points and 8.3 rebounds last season and he will be in the paint
to protect the basket. He averaged 1.9 blocks so expect to see the rim protected
when he is on the floor. Post will give height to a team that may be considered
on the small side, but with the other bigs in the program and other recruits
coming in, he will mesh nicely with the rotation. I am not saying he will start
instantly, but let's see what he can bring to the team
