Snead decided to actually keep that pick and with it, addressed the Rams huge need at outside linebacker by selecting Alec Ogletree at No. 30 overall in the NFL Draft.

Ogletree was considered a top talent in this draft before being arrested with a DUI a few months back. On the field, Ogletree had a very productive season for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2012.

Rams general manager Les Snead and head coach Jeff Fisher do not shy away from off field issues. Just last year they took Janoris Jenkins along with wide receiver Chris Givens, both of whom had sketchy resumes.
The selection of Ogletree at the end of the first round means the Rams executed the first round exactly the way they wanted to.

Ogletree gives the Rams a very solid outside linebacker. Ogletree has great size at 6'2" and 242 pounds and his 4.70 time in the 40-yard dash was proof that his speed on tape is real.
As mentioned, the selection of Ogletree fills a big need on the Rams defense, which will need particularly strong at linebacker this year as they prepare to face the dual threat quarterbacks of the NFC West.
