St. Louis Rams: Experts are high on running back Zac Stacy's outlook with Rams

Heading into the NFL Draft, many St. Louis Rams fans had hoped that the franchise would take former Alabama running back and now, current Green Bay Packer Eddie Lacy as a replacement for Stephen Jackson, who has manned the position for the past nine years and is team's all-time leading rusher.

The Rams passed on Lacy on two occasions, but they did select a running back in the fifth round by the name of Zac Stacy (which rhymes with "Lacy"). While the Rams did not select the high-profile name, they did pick a player that many experts feel like has a great prospective career in the NFL.

While Stacy did not play at a big-name program, he did play for a Vanderbilt team that marched into Columbia, Missouri and beat the Missouri Tigers.

He did rush for over 1100 yards each of the past two seasons. He did average 5.5 yards per carry behind an undersized offensive line against powerful SEC defenses. He did find the endzone on 10 occasions in 2012.

Stacy could give the Rams a surprising impact player at the running back position and you never know, it is possible that the Rams may have found the next Ray Rice, who also happens to stand 5'8" tall and played at small program at Rutgers.

Experts think highly of Stacy's outlook with the Rams and for now, so should Rams fans.
