St. Louis Blues look to ruin the Los Angeles King's chances ofrepeating as Stanley Cup Champions

The Stanley Cup Playoffs officially begin tomorrow night, and the St. Louis Blues will face off against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals, in a rematch of last years Western Conference semifinals, in which the Kings swept the Blues and went on to win the Stanley Cup. The Blues (29-17-2) are the fourth seed and the Kings (27-16-5) are the fifth seed.

The Kings came into the playoffs last year as the number eight seed as they defeated the one seed Vancouver Canucks in five games, swept the Blues, defeated the Coyotes, and eventually went on to win the    Stanley Cup against the New Jersey Devils in six games. It was a remarkable run by the Kings last year as they became the first eight seed to win the Stanley Cup. However, the Blues look for revenge against the Kings this year in the first round led by their hot goaltender Brian Elliott, who is 11-2-0 and was the NHL's second star of the month this April. Elliott has allowed one goal or less 10 outings this April.

The Blues are riding high with momentum heading into the playoffs winning six of their last seven games, including winning three straight games to end the regular season. The Blues clinched home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a 3-1 win over the Blackhawks on Saturday night. St. Louis also looks to get healthier as T.J. Oshie and backup goaltender Jaroslav Halak look to get back in time for the playoffs.

The Kings have won three of their last five games heading into the playoffs including a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night, to play the Blues in the first round.

So it all starts tomorrow as these two teams go on a long journey to win 16 games to become Stanley Cup Champions. The Kings look to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions, meanwhile the Blues are looking for the first Stanley Cup in franchise history. Let the games begin, it's time to get cup crazy.
