Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina wins Defensive Player of the Year GIBBY

St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina has claimed plenty of hardware over the last month for his spectacular performance behind the plate for the Cardinals in 2012.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Molina would take home more hardware, this time winning the GIBBY as the Defensive Player of the Year in baseball.

Molina finished fourth in the National League MVP voting, but did take home his fifth consecutive Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Molina was also given the Platinum Glove Award for the second season in a row, which ties to the best defensive player at any position in all if MLB.

Cardinals fans should truly consider themselves lucky.

Molina is not just a one trick pony though as his dominating offensive performance on 2012 should not go unnoticed.
