Corbin Berkstresser got the start for the Tigers and played decent in the first half, leading Mizzou to a 17-10 lead at halftime despite a pair of interceptions.
But in a surprise move, Mizzou started the second half with their normal starting quarterback James Franklin under center and cruised easily from there to a 33-10 win over Kentucky.
Franklin was not overly effective when he entered the game, completing six of nine passes for just 16 yards. But the entire Mizzou team seemed to grow in confidence once Franklin returned to the field, controlling the clock, and holding Kentucky scoreless in the second half.
Franklin told Dave Matter of the Columbia Tribune after the game that he was not necessarily at full strength on Saturday, but still plans on playing next week at Florida.
