Many St. Louis basketball fans are excited about the future prospects of St. Louis native Bradley Beal as he starts his NBA career with the Washington Wizards.
The third overall pick in last year's draft made his NBA debut on Tuesday night in the Wizards season opener, a 94-84 loss on the road to Cleveland.
Beal was in the starting lineup for Washington and struggled from the field in his NBA debut, making just two of eight shots from the field in 22 minues, scoring eight points while grabbing three rebounds and three assists. Both of Beal's made field goals were from beyond the three point arc.
It was a nice start for Beal, but the nineteen year old who played his high school hoops at Chaminade Prep knows he can be better.
"I critique myself so hard. I was all over the place," Beal said. "I wasn't there mentally. I wasn't as hyped or active on both ends as I usually am. Coach definitely pointed that out. It's hard for me to see because I'm out there in the game [and] I think I'm playing hard. But until he actually shows you the film and it's totally different -- film never lies."
The future is bright for Beal and we will do our best to keep you posted on his progress during his rookie season in the NBA.
