Sobotka is one of many NHL players who have jettisoned to Europe to find a place to play during the NHL lockout and Sobotka is excelling.
Sobotka has tallied eight points in just five games, showcasing an offensive flair that generally comes secondary to the defensive minded forward.
Sobotka scored just five goals and had 15 assists in 73 games for the Blues last season, but served as one of the team's top penalty killers and posted a plus 12 plus/minus rating.
Sobotka's speed and toughness fit well with head coach Ken Hitchcock's style of play and Sobotka figures to have a prominent role once the lockout ends.
But until then, it is good to see he is finding the back of the net.
