Dorial Green-Beckham scores first touchdown for Mizzou

Last spring, after number one wide receiver recruit Dorial Green-Beckham surprisingly chose Mizzou over traditional powerhouses such as Arkansas, Texas, and Alabama, Mizzou fans were ultra excited to see what the six foot, six inch talent could do in a Tigers uniform.

After his first three games at Mizzou, Green-Beckham did not have the results many were looking for.  Green-Beckham had failed to find the end zone and had just six catches for 48 yards.

But in Mizzou's 21-16 win at Central Florida on Saturday, Green-Beckham showed the nation why he was so coveted.

Green-Beckham caught a pass from quarterback James Franklin early in the second quarter on a post pattern, broke a tackle, and took it to the house for an 80 yard touchdown catch.

The score was Green-Beckham's first collegiate score and the first time Mizzou head coach Gary Pinkel was able to get the freshman loose in the open field.  Green-Beckham did not disappoint.

Green-Beckham certainly showed not only speed on the play, but some physicality in shrugging off a Central Florida defender before galloping into the end zone for his first score.

Green-Beckham finished the afternoon with just the one catch, but it was a catch the could propel the freshman down the right path and get him more involved in the surprisingly stagnant Mizzou offense this season.

Congrats to DGB for snagging his first touchdown catch.  Mizzou fans can only hope that it is only one of many more to come while wearing a Tigers uniform.
