Who will lead the St. Louis Blues in scoring in 2012-2013? -(Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
Last season the Blues were led in scoring by captain David Backes. But Backes scored just 24 goals, which was not even among the top fifty goals scorers in the NHL. The Blues certainly had a balanced scoring attack, but at some point one of their young players will need to develop into a sniper and become the go-to guy to find the back of the net.
So who will be the guy next season to lead the Blues in scoring in 2012-2013?
Backes seems to be a guy who will consistently score 20-30 goals, so he is a candidate to lead the team in goals, especially he led the team last season. David Perron was second on the team last season with 21 goals, but his strength seems to be play-making. The Blues gave Chris Stewart a nice contract, hoping he can fulfill his lofty expectations of becoming a forth goal scorer.
Then there is the rookie Vladimir Tarasanko, who has been called a magician with the puck and could develop into a star in the NHL.
Finally, the Blues could make a free agent acquisition and buy themselves a top goal scorer. Vote now on who you think will lead the Blues in scoring next season.
