Entering Saturday night's game against Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers, the St.. Louis Cardinals could ill-afford any more injuries to an already decimated lineup.

Unfortunately for Cardinals fans, the Cardinals received another major injury blow on Saturday night.

Lance Berkman, who has already spent time on the disabled list this season with a strained calf, left Saturday night's game after stretching at first base for a slightly errant throw from shortstop Rafael Furcal.

According to Jim Hayes and the Fox Sports Midwest telecast of the game, Berkman suffererd a right knee injury and will be re-evaluated during the next 24 hours.

Cardinals fans should pray for positive news as they need Berkman's bat in a lineup that is already missing Jon Jay and Allen Craig, who are both on the 15 day disabled list.

If Berkman does have to miss significant time, the Cardinals may have to turn to first base prospect Matt Adams, who has absolutely ripped the cover off the baseball this season for Triple AAA Memphis.
