After an outstanding freshman season for head coach Billy Donovan and the Florida Gators, many speculated on whether St. Louis native Bradley Beal would return to Florida for another season.

On Friday, it looks as though fans of Beal finally got their answer.

According to the school, Beal, who averaged 14.6 points and 6.5 rebounds during the Gators 26-11 season, will enter the NBA draft after just one season at Florida.

The former Chaminade Prep star became a household name throughout the college basketball season, particularly for his gutsy play as an undersized six foot three inch small forward who made fantastic decisions and has a smooth shooting stroke.

Beal's game figures to translate well to the NBA.  Many compare Beal favorably to New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon and feel that Beal is a cinch as a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA draft.  ESPN's Chad Ford has Beal currently rated as the third best prospect in the upcoming draft.

Beal also made the announcement official via his Twitter account.
Congrats go to Beal on a great season at Florda and many more years as a professional basketball player in the NBA.
