Even with several very good teams under legendary coach Norm Stewart, the Tigers have never made the final weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
Many feel that this year's Mizzou team has a chance to make the Final Four for the first time.
President Barack Obama is a believer as well.
The President has annually revealed his tournament bracket on ESPN since taking office and according to ESPN's website.
This year, Obama has picked Mizzou to make the Final Four as the two seed in the West Regional.
Obama's other Final Four picks included number one seeds Kentucky and North Carolina as well as fellow second seed Ohio State.
Obama's pick for Mizzou to make the Final Four may or may not be a good omen. The past two season Obama has ironically enough picked Kansas to win the National Championship and the Jayhawks rewarded his confidence by promptly exiting the NCAA Tournament during the early rounds each of the last two seasons.
The rest of President Obama's bracket will be revealed on Wednesday morning and it will be interesting to see if he has Mizzou winning a National Championship.
Either way, Mizzou fans should at least know that the President sees the Tigers making the Final Four.
