Everyone always talks about how it is really hard to beat a team three times in one season.
Just ask the Big 12 regular season Kansas Jayhawks. KU had beaten Baylor twice during the regular season before falling to the Bears and their awful uniforms in the first semi-final game of the Big 12 tournament on Friday night.
The Missouri Tigers faced a similar challenge, taking on a youthful Texas team for the third time this season after beating the Longhorns twice before.
Mizzou, unlike Kansas, got a similar result, beating the Texas Longhorns for the third time with a 81-67 victory.
Kim English and Phil Pressey were the stars for the Tigers. Each scored 23 points and combined they made eight of eleven of their three point attempts behind the arc.
Not all good for the Tigers and Kim English though. English left the game momentarily after taking a knee to the thigh and visibly limped up and down the floor after returning half way through the second half.
Mizzou leading scorer Marcus Denmon struggled for the Tigers and was unable to collect a single field goal in the game, missing all ten of his shots.
Ricardo Ratliffe chipped in 18 points and 14 rebounds and Michael Dixon came off the bench to score ten points.
The win was Mizzou's 29th of the season and sets up a match-up with Baylor in the Big 12 Championship game at 5 pm CT on Saturday afternoon.
It also gives the Tigers another shot to be yet another team for the third time this season.
