Jamie Langenbrunner returns to Blues lineup

Lost in the St. Louis Blues incredible run and rise to the top of the NHL has been the injury issues the team has suffered throughout the season.

On Sunday, as the Blues travel to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets for the second time in as many nights, the Blues will get back one of their injured players.

Veteran Jamie Langenbrunner, who had missed ten games of action with a fractured bone in his foot, is returning to the Blues active lineup sooner than expected, according to the St. Louis Blues official website.

Langenbrunner, an important veteran presence and leader of the club, has scored four goals and assisted on 17 others in 57 games this season, his first as a member of the Blues.

Langenbrunner's return means somebody will have to be scratched as the Blues suddenly have depth at the forward position.  Langenbrunner will likely find himself on the Blues third line along side fellow veteran Jason Arnott, but it is unclear what coach Ken Hitchcock will do with his new found depth at forward.

The Blues may be getting more depth soon as well as Alex Steen and Matt D'Agostini continue to progress and recover from concussion injuries suffered earlier in the season.
