Yadier Molina enters the 2012 season with a number of firsts in his life.
2012 will be the first year Molina plays without buddy and best friend Albert Pujols, who is now a member of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
2012 will be the first time Molina plays in the walk year of a contract. Molina's contract is up at the end of the season and he will be looking to improve upon his team leading .305 batting average he posted in 2011 in order to maximize his value as he likely enters free agency
2012 is also the first time that Molina got a "World Series trophy" tattoo.
Photographer Chris Lee of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch captured the new ink on Molina's throwing arm as the veteran catcher and defensive star reported to spring training over the weekend.
That tattoo is a the size of Molina's entire upper arm and is a picture of the Cardinals 2011 World Series trophy.
Molina received some attention before the 2011 season for some odd tattoos on his neck and it looks as though Molina plans to add to his art collection prior to the beginning of each season.
In case you missed the link above, you can check out the tattoo here.
