As the St. Louis Rams continue to pursue Jeff Fisher as their head coach and interview candidates for their open general manager position, it looks as though the organization has yet another hole to fill.

According to multiple reports, Rams offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will return to New England as offensive coordinator next season.

McDaniels will be returning to the place where he was made famous and became known as one of the hottest coaching commodities in the NFL.

McDaniels will be replacing current offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, who accepted the head coaching position at Penn State University earlier this week.

It is believed that McDaniels could start helping out the Patriot immediately as an offensive assistant coach, working alongside O'Brien as the Patriots and their star quarterback Tom Brady prepare for their upcoming playoff game after first round bye this week.

McDaniels departure from the Rams is not only bad news for those who hoped he would stick around to work with Sam Bradford for yet another season, but it also likely means that free agent wide receiver Brandon Lloyd may not be back next season either.

Lloyd, who played under McDaniels in Denver before being acquired by the St. Louis Rams this season in a trade, has publicly said that he will likely follow McDaniels wherever he goes next season.
