The St. Louis Rams and owner Stan Kroenke have been hot on the pursuit of former Tennessee Titans quarterback Jeff Fisher to replace former head coach Steve Spagnuolo, who was fired earlier this week.
After a pair of interviews that took place in Denver, Colorado earlier this week, it was believed that Fisher would take the weekend to decide on whether he would join the Rams or decline Kroenke's offer and take a head coaching position with the Miami Dolphins.
According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, things may be progressing a little bit faster than many believe. Fisher will visit St. Louis and Rams Park in Earth City on Sunday to take a look at the organization's facilities.
Thomas points out that many sources insist that Fisher has not made a final decision on where he will coach next season at this point. But a surprise visit to St. Louis cannot hurt the Rams chances in trying to lure the veteran coach to St. Louis.
Fisher did not coach in 2011 and is the most desired option for both the Rams and Dolphins as their next head football coach.
The news of Fisher's visit comes hours after it is learned that Rams offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will be the New England Patriots new offensive coordinator next season and will help the Patriots as an offensive assistant this post-season.
