Lingering Wrist Injury Sidelines T.J. Oshie For Two Games

T.J. Oshie has been a major reason for the St. Louis Blues resurgence under new coach Ken Hitchcock.

Since Hitchcock took over behind the bench, Oshie has been one of the Blues top players and looks to be finally living up to the high ceiling and huge upside potential many have projected for him since the Blues drafted him out of North Dakota.

Oshie is tied for the team lead in points with 23 on the season and leads all Blues with 12 assists while playing stellar hockey on both ends of the ice.

Unfortunately, a lingering wrist injury suffered back on November 19th in Minnesota will keep Oshie out of the lineup for the Blues for the next two games, including Monday night's game against the Dallas Stars.

Hitchcock told Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that it is better to sit Oshie and get him as healthy as possible rather than see him continue to play hurt and at less than one hundred percent.
"Osh has a sore wrist and we've opted to get him as close to 100 percent as we can.  We've opted to keep him out for these two games and then put him in against Nashville. Rather than just keep monitoring it and getting it halfway decent, this way we get it close to 100 percent."
Replacing Oshie will not be easy over the next two games.  The Blues have recalled Adam Cracknell from Peoria to take Oshie's spot in the rotation and have moved Evgeny to Oshie's spot on the second line alongside Patrik Berglund and David Perron.
