Illini Ranked 19th In Latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll

Bruce Weber's Illinois Fighting Illini somehow have slid under the radar for most of the young college basketball season.

And evidently, judging by his squad's 10-0 start to the season, that is exactly how Weber and the Illini like it.

In the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, Illinois finds themselves ranked 19th as they prepare to play UNLV in a rematch of last year's first round, NCAA Tournament match-up.

The rematch will take place at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday night.  UNLV will hope to avenge a 73-62 loss in the NCAA Tournament last season.

If Illinois is able to escape yet another tough game with the Runnin Rebels and then get by Cornell next Monday night, it could set up a showdown between two undefeated teams in the annual Braggin' Rights game with 8th ranked Mizzou in St. Louis.

Illinois will have a tough test on their hands with UNLV on Saturday before they can even think about seeing the Tigers in St. Louis on December 22nd.

If the Illini are able to finish 2011 undefeated heading into Big 10 Conference play, they officially will not be under the radar any longer.
