After squeaking by then 24th ranked Illinois last week in the annual "Braggin' Rights" game in St. Louis late last week, University of Missouri head basketball coach Frank Haith reflected on his first experience in the big game.
Despite barely defeating Illinois 78-74 in their first true test of the season last Thursday, Mizzou remained ranked eighth in the latest version of the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll that was released on Monday.
Now with plenty of national attention because of their fast start, the Tigers will likely be a mark on the schedule for all of their Big 12 foes as the conference season begins.
But not before Mizzou faces a unique challenge on Friday night when travel to dangerous mid-major Old Dominion. ODU was a very good team last season and despite just a 6-6 record thus far this year, they are sure to provide Mizzou with a tough road test just prior to the Tigers starting their final Big 12 conference season.
If Mizzou keeps winning, every game will become a true test as each opponent will try to be the first to knock them off.
And Frank Haith can keep seeing packed houses and fun atmospheres in first season as basketball coach at Mizzou.

"I can't imagine there being anything else like this, the energy in the building. There was cheering on every basket. It has to be one of the great basketball events in the country."If Haith's Tigers keep on winning and extending their now 12-0 undefeated record, they will continue to play in front of sold out crowds both at home, and on the road.
