It was not pretty. In fact, for most of Sunday's NFL contest between the last place St. Louis Rams and Cleveland Browns, it was god awful to watch.
Thanks to a botched snap with just over two minutes left on a 22 yard field goal attempt, the Rams were able to squeek by the Browns 13-12 in a game that likely will have a pair of Sportscenter highlights and that is it.
The Sportscenter highlights came courtesy of Rams wide receiver Brandon Lloyd and Benjamin Watson, who both made outstanding one handed catches in the game. Otherwise, the game film from this contest should be thrown in a bon fire and never viewed again.
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford had another unspectacular afternoon, completing 15 of 26 passes for 155 yards. Bradford was able to connect for a seven yard touchdown strike to Lloyd while throwing his fourth interception via a tipped ball by the Cleveland defense.
Rams running back Stephen Jackson did have another outstanding day on the ground, pounding out 128 yards on 27 carries while catching three Bradford passes for an additional 23 yards. Jackson is doing everything in his power to gain another invitation to the Pro Bowl.
The Rams defense was able to hold the lowly Brown offense to just 335 yards of total offense while defensive end Chris Long picked up his eighth sack of the season.
The Rams were able to pick up their second win of the season, but it was hardly pretty or impressive and it is clear that this team still has a number areas to improve upon if they have aspirations of making a late-season run.
But a win is a win, which is good news for head coach Steve Spagnuolo and Rams fans.
