Brett Hull Interested In Owning Blues

Brett Hull is easily the most recognizable and famous former St. Louis Blues stars of all-time.

The "Golden Brett," who donned number 16 during his glory days of the late 1990's, won the hearts of St. Louis fans with his overpowering slap shot and knack for finding the back of the net.

Now it looks like Hull is trying to find himself as a partner in the possible future ownership group of the St. Louis Blues.

According to NHL sources who have told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the former right winger, who was inducted into the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009, has expressed a considerable amount of interest in being part of Tom Stillman's investment group, who has plans to possibly purchase the Blues franchise if a potential deal between current owner Dave Checketts and financier Matthew Hulsizer falls through.

So, the former Blues star who owned the opposition's penalty kill is trying to have a hand in ownership of the St. Louis Blues.

Some are speculating that Hull wants to do more than just have a hand in ownership with the Blues.  He would likely have interest in the hockey operations of the club as well.  Hull has been part of the Dallas Stars front office in various roles for the past several seasons since retiring in 2005.

The move would bring Hull back to the organization where he spend 11 seasons and is the all-time leader in goals scored with 527.  Hull posted 741 goals in his NHL career, third most in NHL history.  In 1990-91, Hull posted an 86 goal season and scored 50 goals before the team had played 50 games.

The Blues have had no problems over the past two seasons selling out the Scottrade Center and with the possible addition of Hull to the new ownership group if the puzzle were to fall into place, Blues fans would adore the hockey franchise even more even though they have not won a Stanley Cut in its existence.

The charismatic Hull deserves to come home to St. Louis and hopefully Hull can become an owner of the organization.
