When the St. Louis Cardinals were playing in Game 3 of the World Series against the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas, they had some surprise supporters in the stands.
The St. Louis Rams were in town to take on the Dallas Cowboys and Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo took his team to the World Series game.
Now that the Cardinals have wrapped up their 11th World Series in franchise history, the Cardinals decided to return the favor on Sunday afternoon.
The Cardinals attended the Rams shocking 31-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon, hours prior to attending their victory celebration and parade scheduled to take place in downtown St. Louis at 4 pm on Sunday afternoon.
The Cardinals were honored before the game and many thought the ovation the World Champions received prior to kickoff would be the loudest ovation of the afternoon.
But perhaps inspired by the Cardinals attendance and dramatic post-season run to win the World Series, the win-less Rams thumped the powerful Saints.
Everything the Cardinals touch at this point seems to turn to gold, even the seemingly hopeless St. Louis Rams.
Rams fans can only hope a couple of the Cardinals attend a few more games this season. As we have learned, it is never too late to make a late season push towards a post-season run.
