Fresh off their first win of the season on Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome over the New Orleans Saints, the St. Louis Rams have to be finally feeling pretty good about themselves as they begin to prepare to travel to take on a division rival in the Arizona Cardinals.
And after news surfaced that quarterback Sam Bradford was out of his boot and working out at Rams Park on Monday, the Rams had to feel even better.
Head coach Steve Spagnuolo addressed Bradford's improved condition, but was careful not to get expectations too high for the quarterback's return to the lineup.
"He did some strengthening exercises this morning. He's moving around a little bit. I don't know that we'll get him on Wednesday (for practice), but we'll slowly work him in there. He's about the same right now."Bradford started the Rams first five games of the season, all losses in the former Oklahoma standout's second season. Bradford has been out of the lineup the past two weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Bradford has completed just 53.1% of his passes this season and has thrown for 1,177 yards and three touchdowns.
But Bradford has not had a chance to play with newly acquired wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, who has made an immediate impact in his two games with the Rams.
Bradford and Lloyd may get a chance to play together this weekend in the dessert, but Spagnuolo will remain cautious in saying that his young quarterback will be ready.
"He'll be day to day and we'll see where we are after Wednesday."Sources:
