On Tuesday head coach Gary Pinkel found out that he would be without a key contributor on the offensive side of the ball as well.
Junior running back Kendial Lawrence will be out four weeks with a broken fibula bone in his leg.
While the Tigers were planning to continue using a three headed monster at running back, Lawrence had unofficially won the starting job. He carried the ball nine times for just 10 yards in the opener.
The Tigers will miss Lawrence as the tailback did that he could contribute last season for the Tigers. In his sophomore campaign Lawrence ran for 422 yards and four touchdowns.
The Tigers will turn to senior De'Vion Moore and sophomore Henry Josey to carry the ball on the ground against a tough Arizona State team.
