Mizzou Moves Up To 19th In USA Today Poll

Fresh off their season opening 17-6 victory over Miami of Ohio, the Missouri Tigers football team finds itself climbing up the USA Today Coach's Poll rankings.

After starting the season ranked 21st in the country, the Tigers have moved up two spots in the latest rankings to number 19.

While Mizzou failed to impress offensively behind sophomore quarterback James Franklin, the Tigers defense was stout in holding the Miami Redhawks to just 6 points on the afternoon.

Unfortunately head coach Gary Pinkel's defense lost two key players in Will Ebner and Jacquiese Smith, both of whom are expected to miss this week's game.

Which is especially bad news for Mizzou fans.  Next up for the Tigers is another team that has moved up the polls.

Mizzou will travel to Tempe, Arizona to take on the 23rd ranked Arizona State Sun Devils for a game that promises to be a huge match-up for two up-and-coming programs.
