Fans are particularly excited about an offense that features second year quarterback Sam Bradford, rookie tight end Lance Kendricks, and Pro Bowl running back Steven Jackson.
Jackson, who will have help in the back field in the form of Cadillac Williams and Jerious Norwood, knows that the preseason means very little and that this team has plenty to improve upon offensively before they reach their full potential.
“There’s still some work to be done. I think week 1 we will not be the same team we will be in week 12. Each and every week you hope to improve as a team, especially as an offense. It’s still new to us. We are executing at a high level to be so young in the offense but I still think week in and week out we will get better and I think what’s scary about this team is that as the weeks go on, I think we will be a better time. Over time, I think we will see the progress.”Jackson has molded himself into a top notch leader after experiencing some maturity issues during his first couple of seasons in the NFL.
So knowing that Jackson is fully aware that this team still has work to do in order to earn a playoff berth is a positive sign as they prepare for this week's season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Edward Jones Dome.
The Rams will definitely need to be on their toes as they prepare for Michael Vick and the Eagles.
It is clear that Jackson and the Rams are not satisfied with a 4-0 preseason and will be ready for kickoff when it really counts this Sunday.
