With the St. Louis Cardinals trailing the Atlanta Braves by one game in the National League Wild Card standings, the Cardinals need all hands on deck to make up the one game difference in the standings over the next two days.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, star outfielder Matt Holliday's hand was not strong enough to finish Tuesday night's game.

Holliday left in the third inning of the Cardinals game with the Houston Astros on Tuesday night with hand discomfort.

Holliday made just one plate appearance in the game, going 0 for 1 with a flyout and was replaced in the lineup by Allen Craig.

Holliday is hitting .296 on the season with 22 home runs and 75 RBI's in 124 games played.

His status for Wednesday's last game of the season is unknown at this point.
