The story on St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danario Alexander has already been told many times.

The second year, 6 foot 5 inch wide-out from Mizzou has all the tools to be a dynamic wide receiver in the NFL.  The problem is that nobody believes that he can stay healthy.

Alexander has already undergone five knee surgeries at the ripe age of 23.  But when he has a game like he did in week two on a national stage on Monday Night Football, it is easy to forget about the injury risk and hard not to get excited about the type of player Alexander can be.

Alexander did not even suit up for the Rams season opener due to his knee.  Activated in week two, he caught just three passes in the Rams 28-16 loss to the New York Giants, but the three catches definitely made a huge impact on the Rams offensive success.

Making big plays is something Alexander hopes he can continue to deliver as the Rams continue to look for a reliable down-field threat.
“I am a bigger guy, a taller guy and able to stretch the field so every jump ball and every deep ball I want to have it.  I want to bring that excitement to the team, sort of like a big slam dunk to get everybody hyped and get everybody going. I want to be that guy on the team.”
Alexander's three catches resulted in 122 yards for quarterback Sam Bradford and the Rams offense, including a 19 yard touchdown.

Alexander, if healthy, gives Bradford the down field option necessary to open up the quick passing, no huddle offense the Rams hope to run.

If Alexander is able to keep defenses honest, it will open up the Rams running game upon the eventual return of Pro Bowl running back Steven Jackson.

If Alexander can stay healthy the Rams are a better offense, but of course, that is the million dollar question.
