Gary Pinkel's Missouri Tigers put together a valiant effort in the Tigers 38-28 loss on the road at number one ranked Oklahoma on Saturday night.

While it was a great effort and clearly showed that Mizzou has the talent to play with anybody in the country, it was another loss for Pinkel's Tigers.

The loss moves the Tigers to a 2-2 record on the season and are now 0-1 in Big 12 play.

When you take a glance at the Tigers remaining schedule, you can not help buy wonder if the Tigers will be able to do enough to qualify for a bowl game?

The road the rest of the way for Mizzou in the unstable Big 12 will be tough for the Tigers.

After a week off, Mizzou travels to play Kansas State on October 8th.  On paper the game does not feel like a tough match-up.  But Kansas State is 3-0 and is coming off an impressive road victory at the Miami Hurricanes and should not be taken lightly.

Mizzou will then host Iowa State, another game that on paper looks like an easy win.  But Iowa State is for real this year.  The Cyclones and 3-0 and have already beat rival Iowa this season and came away with an impressive road win against UConn in their last game.

Then there is the stretch of games that everybody is already worried about.  Mizzou will host #7 Oklahoma State, travel to #8 Texas A&M and then to upstart #18 Baylor before hosting #19 Texas.  A brutal stretch that would rival even the daunting challenge SEC teams face.

So while the Tigers put together an impressive showing in a losing effort against the top-ranked team in the country this week, they needed a victory.

Because making a bowl game is not a given with the grueling schedule Gary Pinkel and the Tigers must face the rest of the season.
