The St. Louis Rams were already having a rough day in the injury department and on the scoreboard on Sunday afternoon against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles blasted the Rams 31-13 in the season opener and Pro Bowl running back Steven Jackson left after just two carries while receiver Danny Amendola severely dislocated his elbow and could be out a significant amount of time.
So when Sam Bradford injured his finger in the fourth quarter Rams fans had to be holding their breath, especially since the young star did not return to the game.
But according to Bradford, he should be back next week for the Rams week two match-up with the New York Giants.
"I don't see any way I'm not going to be on the field, to be honest with you."While Bradford is optimistic, others are not.
It is believed that Bradford may have a nerve related issue in his hand and according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Bradford experienced numbness in his hand.
Bradford had an uninspired performance before the injury and suffered from a number of dropped passes from his wide receiving corp. Bradford completed 17 of his 30 passes for 188 yards, but also fumbled, which resulted in a Philadelphia touchdown.
While Bradford did not play especially well on Sunday, the Rams better hope he is right about his status for the upcoming week.
Because if the Rams do not have Bradford in the lineup, they will not have much of a chance no matter who they play.
