St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Colby Rasmus has taken some heat from Cardinals fans nearly all season.

Recently, Rasmus has taken heat from the St. Louis media as well, as his putrid numbers of late along with the reemergence of his father's mouth have gotten the center fielder in a heap of trouble.

Speculation surrounds Rasmus and whether or not general manager John Mozeliak is shopping the center fielder, who at 24 years of age has failed to live up the expectations of fans and the organization.

Rasmus, who leads the team in runs scored on the season with 57, has been a funk since the calendar turned from May to June.  Rasmus hit just .213 in the month of June and thus far in July is hitting just .132.

Because of his struggles and the presence of his father as his personal hitting coach once again, Cardinals fans are calling for Jon Jay to take the reigns in center field.

Jay has been more consistent than Rasmus both in the field and at the plate.  The left-handed swinging outfielder out of Miami is hitting .302 on the season and has displayed power similar to Rasmus with his seven home runs on the season.

So, who should it be in center field?

Should the Cardinals stick with their 24 year old prized prospect, turned enigma, who has the ability to break out of his slump and be among the best hitting outfielders in baseball?

Or should the Cardinals trade Rasmus and place the center field responsibilities squarely on the shoulders of Jon Jay, who likely is already playing at the top of his potential?

Vote now!
