Many experts believe that Missouri Tigers senior guard Marcus Denmon will be among the top returning players in the Big 12 next season.

As a junior the sharp-shooter poured in 16.9 points per game while shooting nearly 45% from three point range.

Denmon solidified such predictions when he was announced as one of 14 finalists for Team U.S.A.'s men's basketball squad that will compete in the World University Games in China that begin on August 14.

The final Team U.S.A. roster will carry 12 players, but at the minimum, Denmon will be an alternate for a team of elite collegiate players.

Denmon credited hard work for his selection as a finalist to represent his country.

"My mindset was to come out here and outwork everyone," Denmon said in a statement released by University. "There are a lot of great players here and everyone was deserving to make this team and sometimes shots fall and sometimes they don't, but if you just play hard and put in work, good things will happen."

While Denmon was named a finalist for the team, fellow senior guard Kim English was left off the roster.
