The St. Louis Cardinals had three position players selected to this year's MLB All-Star game.

Two of those players, Yadier Molina and Lance Berkman, each homered on Sunday afternoon.  Unfortunately, it was not enough as the Cardinals dropped the series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays 8-3.

Molina's home run was his fifth of the season and gave the Cardinals an early 1-0 lead.  Berkman later hit his 22nd home run of the season to drive in the Cardinals other two runs.

The Cardinals once again struggled with runners in scoring position.  After going 1 for 9 the night before, the Cardinals were 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position.

The lack of clutch hitting and producing just three runs was not enough behind starter Kyle Lohse.

Lohse was knocked around by the Tampa offense that was without their star third baseman Evan Longoria, who received a the day off.  Rays outfielder Johnny Damon picked up the slack.  Damon had four RBI's on the afternoon.

Lohse lasted just 5.1 innings, allowing five runs, four of which were earned, on seven while striking out just two.

The loss moves the Cardinals to 45-40 on the season.
