Luckily for Bishop, he'll have on more year to stick with the Blues full time as the team announced that they signed Bishop to a one year, two way contract for next season.
The Blues organization is expecting big things from Bishop, who showed flashes of brilliance during his brief time in St. Louis last season. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong is expecting Bishop to compete with newly signed Brian Elliot for the back-up goalie spot behind Jaroslav Halak.
“Ben keeps pushing himself to take the next step and we expect him to compete to make our team this season,” said Armstrong.
Bishop appeared in seven games for the Blues last season, highlighted by a 5-0 shutout on the road against the Edmonton Oilers on February 25th.
The 6 foot 7 inch Bishop posted a 2.77 goals against average while stopping 89.9% of the shots he faced.
