The St. Louis Cardinals offense has missed the presence of Lance Berkman, the National League leader in home runs, over the past several days.  The slugger has been out of the lineup since July 27th while nursing a shoulder strain.

On Sunday night, Berkman will return to the Cardinals lineup as the club looks to sweep the Chicago Cubs and keep pace with the red-hot Milwaukee Brewers.

While Berkman's bat returns to right field, newly acquired shortstop Rafael Furcal will have to wait at least one day to make his debut in the Cardinals lineup.

According to Matthew Leach of MLB.com, Furcal is available off the bench as Daniel Descalso gets the start at shortstop.

Check out Sunday night's lineup over at Leach's blog.
