Ricky Kreklow Will Leave Mizzou

Ricky Kreklow had what some would think would be the perfect situation.  The Columbia, Missouri native was given the opportunity to play at the major university just a few miles from his childhood home.

The problem is, not everyone is comfortable staying at home.

According to Vahe Gregorian of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, head coach Frank Haith has said that Kreklow will fore go his sophomore season at Mizzou and will transfer.

The move comes as a blow to Haith who could use Kreklow's body this fall.  Kreklow's departure leaves the Tigers with four open scholarships available for the upcoming season as Haith struggles to fill out a roster for his first season as head coach of the Tigers.

Kreklow also is a player that could have helped Haith.  Kreklow was serviceable during his freshman campaign.  Kreklow played in 32 of the Tigers 34 games, averaging over nine minutes per contest and 2.1 points per game.

Many felt that Kreklow resembled former Tigers forward and new assistant coach Matt Lawrence.  Fans felt Kreklow's 6 foot 6 inch frame could grow into a legitimate outside threat for the Tigers.

Unfortunately, Kreklow will be developing that outside shot somewhere else rather than Columbia.
