Marcus Denmon was last the undisputed best player on the Missouri Tigers men's basketball team last season.  Denmon averaged 16.9 points per game and 44.8% from three point range to give the Tigers a powerful scoring threat.

Denmon's fantastic junior campaign did not go unnoticed nationally as Denmon and teammate Kim English were both selected to tryout and possibly play for the Team USA Junior National Team in this year's World University Games held later this summer in China.

Denmon, who was an All-Big 12 first team pick last season, and English will be joining an elite group of college players selected by prestigious coach Jim Boeheim.

"After a lot of thought and consideration of potential players, the committee has put together a very strong roster for the USA Men's World University Games Team training camp," said Boeheim. "As always, the committee will be looking for not only the most talented players, but also players that will work well as a team."

While Boeheim was the chairman in charge of picking this year's team, Team USA will be coached ironically enough by Purdue's Matt Painter, who flirted with coming to Mizzou before ultimately deciding to stay.

St. Louis basketball fans will be happy to know that Painter will be joined on the sideline by East St. Louis native and new Tennessee basketball coach Cuonzo Martin.

While the coaching staff is loaded and it certainly is an honor for Denmon and English to be selected to the team of 22 players invited to tryout, Mizzou fans have to be happy.  Denmon and English will gain valuable experience this summer training as they prepare for senior seasons this fall, their first with new head coach Frank Haith.
