New University of Missouri men's basketball coach Frank Haith has done a great job sealing the borders of Columbia this week.  Either Haith or the school has announced that Laurence Bowers, Kim English, and Phil Pressey will return for the 2011 season.

And now Haith has landed his first recruit.

No, Tyrek Coger will not be in a Missouri Tigers uniform next season.  But he will be wearing the black and gold come 2013.

Coger, out of Raleigh, North Carolina, has given Haith a verbal commitment to come to Columbia and play basketball at the University of Missouri.

Coger also made it known via his Twitter account that he was coming to Missouri.  His profile dons a picture of himself wearing a Missouri Tigers t-shirt.
it looks like im rolling with #missouri :)
This is great news for Mizzou basketball fans.  Coger is a legitimate prospect, is just a sophomore, and has room to grow as a basketball player.  He's already big, standing six feet, eight inches tall, Coger will give the Tigers an inside presence in the future.

ESPN currently has Coger ranked as the fourth best power forward in his class and the 49th player overall.  Here is an ESPN scouting report on the prospect.
Coger is an up and coming big man with very good offensive skills for a young player. He has the potential to be one of the top post players in the 2013 class. Once he gets stronger in his upper body he will be a load for all to bounce off of in the interior.

It looks like the rumors surrounding Frank Haith's ability to recruit top talent are true.

Now he needs to sign somebody to play at Mizzou Arena next season.
