And Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis is not any different. Laurinaitis led the Rams in 2010 with 98 solo tackles and also contributed 3 sacks. The middle linebacker will be entering his third year in the NFL if the lockout ends, but like many others, will be looking for work if it doesn't.
Recently on ESPN's first take, Laurinaitis revealed a little bit about whether the WWE could be an option as he looks for a paycheck.
While Laurinaitis says that it would be unlikely that he would join the WWE, he doesn't rule it out if the NFL lockout continues for a significant period of time.
Laurinaitis also reveals that his nickname as a child was Animal Jr., after his father's WWE moniker. He also said that he would chose Daniel Vobora as his teammate in a tag-team match.
Great stuff.
It is reassuring to hear that Laurinaitis is unlikely to get involved with the WWE, but it is refreshing to hear him able to joke about the possibility.
Especially if he can play like "Animal Jr." on the field next fall wearing a Rams uniform.
