St. Louis Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak had an event filled first season with the organization.

The net minder started the season on fire, then struggled through multiple injuries before finally finishing the season on a high note.

And the high notes keep coming for Halak as the 25 year old has been selected to represent Slovakia at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Men’s Championships.

And even more bittersweet for Halak, the tournament is to be hosted by his home country.

Quite an honor for the 25 year old who will be looking to build on his late season success in preparation for next season with the Blues.

Halak finished the 2010 campaign with a 27-21-7 record and 2.48 goals against average.  Most impressively, Halak posted 7 shutouts on the season, which was tied for 4th most in the NHL.

Halak will be hoping to put together a couple of more shutouts wearing his Slovak jersey in front of his home country's fans.
