Blaine Gabbert and Aldon Smith have a huge week ahead of them.  Both will realize their dreams of being drafted to play in the NFL.

Both will likely be 1st round picks.

And both will be in attendance at the draft in New York City's Radio City Music Hall for the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night.

There were some reports a few weeks after the NFL lockout began that the NFL Players Union would request that draft prospects boycott the event, but the union has since withdrawn such a request.

Gabbert and Smith will be part of a record 25 players in attendance on Thursday night.

Gabbert will likely be a Top 5 pick and could possibly go first overall to the Carolina Panthers.  The 6 foot 4 inch quarterback is regarded as one of the most "NFL ready" quarterbacks in the draft and his big arm and athletic ability appeal to many teams.

Smith on the other hand is kind of a wild card.  An athletic freak at 6 foot 4 inches and 263 pounds, Smith has the kind of raw talent many teams covet as he is a natural pass rusher.  But Smith is raw and draft analysts see Smith going anywhere from a Top 10 pick to the latter half of the first round.

Either way, it is good to see a couple of former Missouri Tigers in attendance at the NFL Draft.

Both figure to represent Mizzou well as they enter the NFL and begin their professional careers.
