Oshie Suspended Two Games For Unexcused Absence

T.J. Oshie is possibly at the center of the core of a young St. Louis Blues team that is building towards 2011.

Unfortunately for the Blues, Oshie does not seem to be following in the leadership footsteps of teammate David Backes.  Oshie missed practice on Monday.

The absence was unexcused.

Which for a player of Oshie's caliber and importance not only to his teammates on the ice, but to St. Louis Blues fans, the incident is a devastating blow to the player's reputation in the town and could cost him money as he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Additionally, the Blues are letting Oshie know how serious the situation is by suspending him for two games, including the Blues Tuesday night game against the Minnesota Wild at the Scottrade Center.

Blues general manager is taking a tough stance in dealing with Oshie's mistake.

"He will miss the next two game and we will re-evaluate things when we get back (on Thursday)," Armstrong said. "Everything else is going to be handled internally. But he won't play tonight, won't play tomorrow night and won't travel with the team."

Good for Armstrong to be strict on the young Blues forward.

Oshie has tallied 30 points on the season, including 10 goals, in 44 games for the Blues.

  2. I saw what Hullie had to say. Good stuff from the Golden Boy. Oshie playing with fire by missing practice. This fan base adores him. Why do anything to mess that up?

You think he was over on the East Side hanging out with Ray Lankford?

He was over there with Berglund...Stewart and McRae (which I have no problem with)

East side Ray could have been there too....
