Blues Lose To Anaheim 2-1

The St. Louis Blues fired 31 shots at Anaheim Ducks goal tender Ray Emery.

And Emery turned away all but one as the Blues fell to the Anaheim Ducks 2-1 on the road in California.

Playing against former teammate Brad Winchester for the first time, the Blues played an inspired game against an Anaheim team that is fighting for their playoff lives.

The lone Blues goal came from defenseman Nathan Oystrick, who was called up from Peoria earlier in the day.

It was Oystrick's first goal of the season.  Oystrick was called up and allowed to play for the Blues despite being suspended for 6 games in the AHL.

Sometimes sports just have weird rules and this is obviously one of them.

Matt D'Agostini and Carlo Colaiacovo assisted on Oystrick's goal.

Jaroslav Halak allowed 2 goals on 24 shots in the loss.

Ian Cole played yet another stellar defensive game, blocking 2 Anaheim shots, making 2 hits, and finishing with a plus/minus of zero.

While it was the first time Winchester and the Blues saw each other since the two parted way, it wasn't all a happy reunion for the entire 60 minutes on Wednesday.

Winchester and David Backes got into a shoving match late in the game, proving that everything changes when you put on a different sweater.
