On Thursday, Gabbert showed 6 NFL coaches why Kiper made such a prediction.
Gabbert threw the ball 63 times, completing 58 of his throws to various receivers. Of the 5 incompletions, 3 of which occurred because receivers dropped the ball.
Its safe to say, that Gabbert was money and possibly cemented himself as the first quarterback taken. And anytime you are the top quarterback available in the draft, you have a good chance of being the first player taken overall.
Obviously such an event centered around one player can be a lot of pressure. Gabbert had a positive attitude though.
"This is fun," Gabbert told a throng of reporters after his workout. "I'm going to be happy with whoever picks me."
And Gabbert has lots of interested suitors.
The most distinguished of NFL executives in attendance was Hall of Fame quarterback and executive of the Denver Broncos John Elway.
The Carolina Panthers, who hold the number one pick, also had plenty of personnel in attendance.
Overall, it was a successful outing for the Mizzou quarterback who did not throw in the NFL combine. His chance to impress was today and he didn't disappoint.
