Rarely do you think that a major snow storm would cancel a hockey game.
But that is what happened on Tuesday night in St. Louis as the Colorado Avalanche were scheduled to face the St. Louis Blues at the same time a massive winter storm was visiting eastern Missouri. The game was cancelled, citing safety for the fans.
Today, the league rescheduled the contest for February 22nd.
This creates a brutal stretch of games beginning on February 18th in which the Blues will play 7 games in 10 days.
The stretch starts with a road game at Buffalo on the 18th before the Blues return home the next night to host the Anaheim Ducks.
After two more home games, the Blues end this brutal stretch with the always difficult Western Canada trip. Going to see Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary is always a tough trip, but playing 7 games in 10 days will make it even tougher.
Maybe the Blues can get one of these games because of snow too.
Lets be honest, in Western Canada, that's incredibly doubtful.
