According to Todd McShay's latest mock draft, Gabbert is extremely talented and will find a home with an NFL team that desperately needs a quarterback.
In McShay's third installment of his "mock draft," the analyst has Gabbert going 5th overall to the Arizona Cardinals.
Not bad for the local St. Louis kid.
But are we really happy about him going to a division rival in Arizona?
In seriousness, all the best for Gabbert as the NFL Draft nears.
Another Tiger is also predicted to go in the first round in defensive end Aldon Smith.
McShay has Smith going 18th overall to the San Diego Chargers.
Earlier mock versions have seen Smith going as high as 11th overall, but San Diego would not be a bad place for the 6 foot 5 inch, 260 pound gorilla to land.
Here is what ESPN's David Ubben had to say about Smith.
Smith, who also could fit as a 4-3 end, is still growing into his body and needs to get stronger, but he is a relentless pass-rusher with a knack for getting to the quarterback. His 2009 tape tells the true story of his potential, because in 2010 he was hobbled when he was able to get on the field.
